Before you start
You’ll need:
- the passport you will travel with;
- a clear photo or scan of its personal-details page;
- a clear photograph of your face;
- your contact details and home address;
- your nationality, employment and background information.
Each traveller needs a separate application, including children.
Passport photo requirements
Photograph the physical passport you will use to travel. Show all four corners of the personal-details page, your details, your photograph and the complete machine-readable zone.
- Keep the image clear and in focus.
- Avoid glare, reflections, shadows and cropped edges.
- Make every letter and number easy to read.
Machine-readable zone (MRZ)
The MRZ is formed by two or three lines of letters, numbers and chevrons at the bottom of the personal-details page. Include every character and keep the area in focus.
Your photo requirements
Face the camera against a plain, light background. Your head, shoulders and upper body should be visible with even lighting.
- Keep your face and eyes fully visible.
- Avoid shadows, glare, filters and digital alterations.
- Do not include other people or objects.
